Hi just want introduce myself to everyone, I purchased my CL 55 three months ago and use it as a daily runner. I travel lots of miles with my job and never feel tired when I arrive at my destination.I have had several BMW 7 series in the past but this car is another level. I also have a Maserati Ghibli, which is pretty rapid but not as comfortable as the Merc.
Thanks

Thanks guys, strange problem has happened recently. When I park the car after a journey of an hour or more the car drops on all four corners quite quickly. The red ABC warning light is on, but I can raise the car by the button on the dash allowing me to drive the car as normal.Has anyone had a similar issue, i have read countless threads but nothing seems to point to this problem.

Your lock valve o rings have died, valve blocks need stripping down, cleaning & new seals fitting. Where in the country are you?

Hmm, need to find an ABC Indy who can do the work. It's not an expensive fix you'll be glad to know. I assume you know that the numbers in a Mercedes model designation actually equal the individual item repair costs, or rather the denominator of, in sterling..? ;)

It was a joke although "only funny 'cos it's true" ;)

You have Star in Reading and Mercland in Nuneaton, Welwyn Merx in Welwyn that I know of. Don't know about The Cold North though.

Welcome Dennis. You've demonstrated great taste in your choice of car and in coming to this forum for advice. Just in case Craig's suggestions don't suit, you're not too far from Alex Crow in Suffolk, who knows absolutely everything about ABC.

Lol, as Craig says funny but true!
Anyways as to specialists all of the above mentioned and tried and tested on this forum
Closer to 'home' these popped up
http://www.amgcollection.co.uk/contact.asp
Wonder if any members on here have any experience with them?
Interesting car collection for sale and if they are indeed servicing SL55's and the like they 'must' know ABC issues....

Thanks John and Craig, I do see the funny side now. I know that this car is going to cost me a few quid in repairs etc but it is well worth the cost.

Yes Alex is a member here and a Google search for Alex Crow Stowmarket will find him.

The biggest thing with these cars is to keep driving them. They do not like sitting around unused. The battery charge needs to be kept above 11.4V or Bad Things Happen.

What colour is the ABC fluid? This is found in the small black header tank to front right of the engine, it usually has a turquoise sticker on it.
