red battery charge and abc warnings

My 2002 cl 500 has a red battery charge, visit workshop warning and a red abc drive carefully warning. The battery warning was first followed a few minutes after by the abc warning.
I'm guessing battery charge is probably an alternater. Is it possible if battery is not charging it will shut down the abc system?

Yes its quite possible that a battery issue will impact other systems. First thing first - check the alternator output using a voltmeter.

It has and ripped now. How easy to change?

Very easy. No more than £50 at a garage including the belt.

I wonder why it ripped though, what's the mileage?

Make sure none of the pulleys have siezed as this would throw the belt off!

From a brief inspection they look ok, what would cause a seizure?

A dead bearing, I think the AC pulley is common to seize, do any of them not spin straight if you get me?

Btw a dead battery on the 215 can cause all sorts of warnings. I had -39 fault codes on mine when bought thanks to a flat battery.
