Almost everything in the little car is jammed in, so from bulb replacement, to fog trim removal, many trivial tasks require a five-page WIS file ...

I have, recently, had to remove the front bumper, to replace the fog trims, so had an opportunity to take a few pics - hopefully, this will be useful to someone, looking at their milked, or is it fogged? ;) fog lights, and wondering if this is a permanent damage, or can it be rectified?

Well, the answer is yes, it can be - the lamp needs to be removed, and cleaned from the inside.

I've faced the same dilemma, and thought they had to be replaced. Not at all - this is what my old (2006) ones (pictured above) looked like, when I put them on eBay,

Hindsight is a wonderful thing :)

Now, to the actual removal of the lamps - these are held in place by three torx bolts. I've added a forth, as I don't like unused mounting points o_O

There's no need to remove the bumper (surprise!) to get the lamps out, just two expansion clips at the bottom of the bumper, and another two in the wheel arch, and then simply pull the liner away:

Don't forget to unplug the connector, and remove the bulb, before taking the screwdriver, or a ratchet with T20 head, more likely, to it.

This could do with being put as a sticky or in the DIY section, I’m sure there are loads will benefit from this....

A question was asked - to clean the inside of the lamp lens (first two photos above) - just use either a methylated spirit, or ethyl alcohol, nothing abrasive, etc.

The outside of the lens, can be polished and UV protected, as usual.

And, yes those really are the same fog lamps :)
