S204 Rear Wiper - Intermittent Is Too Slow

On my 2008 S204 the tailgate wiper has only wash and intermittent settings. In the filthy rain yesterday it was almost useless as it only wipes about once every 10 seconds. Thankfully the wing mirrors are excellent, otherwise I would have had almost no rear visibility most of the time!

Is there a way of increasing the wipe frequency, or is it just a poor piece of MB design?

Wonder if it's worth an email to MB ashford or Customer (dis)services? On the M20 last evening I felt quite vulnerable - absolute cloudburst, I've slowed to under 40mph with all lights on, moved to inside lane - and find large coach approaching fast behind then pulling out and overtaking! Also small white van men passing at 60+ - and you could see water across all 3 lanes, real risk of aquaplaning.

The big problem is there are no circuits for the ECU's You could switch the intermittent circuit out, but again its a pig to do it well and getting wires from front to the rear.

Its a shame when corners are cut to omit the standard speed.

There's been a suggestion on t'other side that something may be doable via STAR, so I've emailed MB Ashford (where I bought the car) to see what they suggest. Will update if/when I get a reply. Also suggested they ask for comment from MB HQ!!
