S205 not stop starting do I need a trickle charger?

Hi All.
My c220d s205 2015. The stop start has not actuated for ages, I have not done any long trips and wondered if the battery might not be fully charged, air con always on, I wondered if an over night trickle charge might make a difference. If so any recommendations on which one to buy.

stop/ start wont worl if the car thinks the battery isn't upto the job so like your already thinking , the battery probably needs a charge OR you need to drive further , my old astra VXR only ever did 5 stop/ starts in 2 1/2 years of ownership due to lack of use

Anyone know if charging the main battery also charges the auxiliary one as well, sorry for the dumb question but I'm not really up to speed on electrics.

Not wholly familiar with your model Eddie but my similarly aged car has a convenience battery in the boot which is for the stop start function. If you have the same then that’s the one to trickle. I don’t believe they are linked ..

The car is now on charge, I'll let you know if the stop starts working again.​

Brilliant a result. It works, after an overnight charge the stop start is active again. So the battery was 80% charged which is fine to start and keep the car running fine, but it needs to be at optimum charge to satisfy the requirements of stop / start. So it appears it will need a boost due to short journeys every couple of weeks.
If you are experiencing the same problems this charger is definitely the way to go.
