You should go and test drive one. I simultaneously had an E55 along with the C43, both estates, I got rid of the E and kept the C, the E is too big and wallowy and not much fun on the twisty roads, not bad for long motorway cruises (apart from its bone-shaking ride!). The C feels so much better and reminds me of an updated version of the old 190 Cossie I once had.
You should go and test drive them both to see what you think.

I found the E55 AMG (210) still very comfortable and Mercedes like. That said, £6500 seems a bit on the high side, couldn't spot the mileage though.
