So guys, I have been noticing that when driving at night in darker places, sometimes I struggle a bit and have to use high beams to be able to see through the road, I have notice that the parking light the previous owner installed LEDs which a think they are very weak. And the dip beam are a bit weak too, I have notice that the head light need to be wet sand and polish to remove the yellow stuff ( have bough a 3M kit) will wait until weather gets a bit warmer.
So my question is, any advice on getting better light on the road? Bulbs types/ Road legal obviously.
Thanks in advance

Osram Night breakers are the preferred of many on here. I also use Philips Extreme Vision on occasion or the Halfords +130% bulbs (which are rebadged GE I believe).

The dipped beam looks like it’s xenon and the main beam halogen and yes polishing up the plastic lens will make a difference. If it is xenon they do loose some of their brightness over time

The lenses are looking somewhat yellow - you could look at refurbing them as per the guide here

Definitely look like Xenon lamps. Polish them up and then get a set of 6000k to give a crisp white light as in post #6

Polish the lenses and UV seal: £50 for a 3M lens restoration kit. Then £80 for a set of D2S Osram Xenarc HiD.

Don't use 6000k lights if you want light output. Stick to 4300k or 5000k.
The higher the colour temperature (k figure) the lower the effective light output due to the responsiveness of the human eye. Around 4300k is the sweet spot for the eye.

Those are the wrong units for his car. They are D2S (description is incorrect) and his car needs D2R.

The D2R is designed for reflector type headlights and the D2S for projector headlights. The photos of the OPs car look like reflector type.

Polishing the lens (and the cold weather should make you rub harder to keep warm) is a good start.

Yours are pretty poor.
Mask around and a machine polisher makes light work of them, something to keep the UV off them helps keep them clearer for longer.
Xenons reducing much in efficiency over time is a controversial subject.
Oh and make sure they are set correctly you might find you don't need new bulbs.

a think your are right, as I don’t like the light to white 6000k is too much will stick with 4300 ou 5000 kelvins
Will give it a Polish first and remove them and put them back in place and then is still no better projection of light will have to buy the d2r

They look like they could do with replacing. Osram don't do a D2R Nightbreaker unlimited so you'd probably be best with a Philips Extreme.

Also check the lenses are crystal clear. I repolished mine (with Brasso) two weeks ago as they seemed a little dim and they are fantastic again now (mine are H7 and they're almost on a par with the HiDs in the r230).

Some new D2R’s needed then :)

Osram Xenarc are the right brand and product range :D none of this dodgy Phillips rubbish!
