hi all,

what a crappy day, was coming home from work and pretty tired, driving in my old Merc (1966 W110), about half way home my eye noticed that the cars infront of me were not moving any more, i hit the brakes hard and swerved to the left as much as i could in the time i had (i was driving at 70km/h). I skidded some metres (i will photo the skid tomorrow) and crunch into the back of a Ford 4x4.

I got out of my car and other cars had stopped, one guy approached me (from the car infront of the car I hit) and I just yelled F*** and then apologised, I was in shock and annoyed at myself for letting this happen

we drove to my local indie (my neighbor) and filled out the crappy insurance forms, the indie told me I\ll most likely not get the car repaired by my insurance company as its old, rusty and not worth it to them, but I will claim anyway as I have to get his car fixed....

here's some photos, and I'm so fed up as I love this old car.....

What a shame Niall, but these things happen, at least this is not too bad for your car as it missed the bumper, and an easy repair

it was lucky the bumper was missed at that would cost 10.000kr new, but i dont want new !!! the metal in the old side wing is sooooooooo thick !!! 42 years old and so little rust :( now its wrecked

but the biggest bummer of all is the side that got wacked (my right side) as it was the original front wing and the front left wing is currently fiberglass whilst I get the rust sorted out on the left wing.....

plus the bonnet is dented ...

sucks...

It can happen to the best of us. The main thing is both yourself and the other driver were able to walk away unharmed.

I just yelled F*** and then apologized

So, you blasphemed in English?

Don't the locals have a rich enough vocabulary to cover these eventualities?

We look forward to seeing pics of the repair - there may be a silver lining in that it might give the chance to sort any adjacent issues en passant?

I could put up all of the local words in use, but no one would understand them

Unlucky Anyweb - and the ford owner's going to love you even more after putting his reg # on the net - oh f**k

Did you notice the tax disc on the rear number plate (pic 5), it expires at the end of this month, so he has saved some money thanks to Niall

Sad news but glad you and the other driver are not hurt. Good luck with the repairs.

Awwh, that's unlucky Niall.

At least you weren't seriously hurt. Mend her and carry on the love affair.

Best regards, John (aka: DoverSole)
