C220 cdi coupe 2013
Forgive me if this is stupid, but I need some help.

I picked up my 62-plate C220 cdi coupe (AMG Sport trim) today.

It has 'sat nav prep', but no sat nav. I wasn't under the impression it had sat nav, so that's ok. What does 'sat nav prep' mean though?!

I do however, want to install sat nav so...what, where, how, etc?

All in all though I'm chuffed to bits with the car. It looks pretty damn slick.

Also thinking of chipping it, any thoughts?

Hello and welcome, you can buy the sat nav for it and just plug it in, the name has gone out of my head, but someone will tell you, they are not expensive.

Not sure on the C class, but on the E-Class for 2012 models that would be the Audio 20 system and the Becker Map Pilot unit which plugs into the connector in the glove box.

You wonderful people, thank you.

Does anyone know if the voice activation button on the wheel will work with it?

If it is a Garmin map pilot you will have a box in the top of the glove box that the navigation drive goes into and it is as simple as pushing it in and then selecting your settings (language etc.) and yes the voice control will work.

Becker Map Pilot for that car; don't think voice control works though unless you have Comand. Plenty available on Ebay and also on here in the For Sale section. If you want new, it can be had for about £450 at MB.

VC works on the Garmin system which is available on the 205s, however.

Thank you very much! Sounds like I will need to pick up the Becker.

I never expect too much from voice control anything, I've been using Siri through the car and losing my mind over how rubbish it is!

After losing my temper with it while trying to send a text via Siri, I shouted "Text Tim, you ******!" at my phone. Which promptly decided to finally understand me and text tim, calling him a ******. Sigh.

Anyway, slight deviation. Thank you everyone for the help! I'll no doubt be back when I've bought the unit!
