I have found a slot under the CD insert for a memory card, my question is what type of card is this and is this for loading music onto?

If so, can anyone please advise where I can get one of these and what I should be buying, and also how can I load my music files onto it please?

The display also tells me that there should be a Hard Drive in the car somewhere? Is that so, and how do I access this?

Many thanks,
G.

There will be a built in HDD in the unit, however it is not able to hold that much music. Ok my w212 it is around 10GB from memory. As for the memory card all you need is an SD card with however much storage you want. I have a 64GB in mine and it works a treat. As for putting music on it, treat it like a normal USB stick. Top level is the top level, or you can have different folders for the albums to make it more organised. Amazon, ebay, most high street stores, supermarkets. Widely abailable really. As for putting music on it, you need a pc or laptop with an SD card slot to be able to do it. Otgerwise you require a usb to card reader adapter.

Thank you. Mine doesnt look like the size of a Standrad SD Card, with or without adapter, the slot looks way bigger. Does that mean its needs a PCMCIA card thing?

Doesn't your owners (Comand?) manual tell you what type of card slot it is? I know 203's had PCMCIA slots, and owners have found PCMCIA to SD adapters that worked! TBH I have not examined mine to even see if it will take a card! (NTG4 Comand).

Prefacelift 204's are PCMCIA slots, Post facelift (NTG 4.5) is SD card.

I get this now.

So I have seen an PCMCIA to SD Adapter for Mercedes-Benz Audio System Support SDHC 32GB for sale on ebay for aorund £20.

And I can get an 8Gb SD Card for around £5.00.

All in all should be around £20.00.

Only thing is the PCMCIA SD Card Adapter is in China and takes ages to arrive.

Morning all. I have managed to sort this. I bought a PCMCIA adapter off ebay and an 8Gb CF card off ebay too. Managed to get hold of a laptop that had a PCMCIA slot in there, loaded on 5 hours worth of music, plugged it into the car, and it all works really well. Happy days. Also managed to load on around 30 songs onto the internal HDD, but it failed at more than that so I suspect it got full? If so, thats a very small capcity.

Only thing I saw in the glovebox was an Aux jack port....should I be looking for something else, and where abouts? No loose leads in there though.
