Or do a forum search, this topic has come up many times. :D

As this is a Mercedes forum, the least I would expect is that it automatically reads my post, cross references it against the previous posts and then flags up "this question has been asked before" - or am I thinking of the 2019 model year forum? :)

Heh - a few weeks back, in town, and in front of a cafe, I showed the people in there how to parellel park in a tight space simply by being good at it.

If I do say so myself.

Thanks for all the replies guys:)

I have just shown the girls in the cafe how to use this function (it was active all the time). It's clever, but don't think it would be used much if I had it.

Just wish you could all share the free bacon sandwich that I'm currently enjoying :)
If it's vertical then well played sir.

I'll get my coat...

I agree we should all RTFM but, when someone gives a simple summary like this, it makes things so much easier. Thanks Eddie :)

An old B-Class.
On all the time as you’ve found- just a reminder you need to be indicating as you drive slowly past the space and when engaging reverse or it won’t work!

Mate not all cars. It seems to vary between models.

Mine is automatic for passenger side parking and needs the indicator for driver side parking. I find it really works well and with the driving position in the SL being very low (hard to see the back corners) I like the park assist.

MY SLK (2013) had instructions on the screen between the dials showing how much to turn the steering etc. I never used it. My wife's 2008 A class had the park assist before it was common in cars and it worked well back then. 10 years on it should be pretty slick.

I don't understand people that think it is a bad thing - do they also still use type writers and fax machines?

Pi$$ed myself watching celebrity hunted where those two guys did'nt know how to use a dial telephone.
