Hi Everybody,
new (ish) here - but have benefitted from pearls of wisdom herein for a while... On my third Merc (C220 (pet) - CLK 320 still here.... and now an SL) . . .
I would just like to elicit opinions on suitable rubber for an SL (55) - I have read previous threads on the subject - but the focus appears to have been on cost and value for money - neither of which I ignore :!: - but I am curious as to what people think are the best suited boots -> performance-wise <- :?::?::?:
I have only just bought my SL - and it came with what appear to be the three most popular tyres already fitted - one on each corner - and one that isn't actually the right spec - even though its the right size and a popular type... However I knew that when I bought it - and I also knew it would cost me a thousand pounds (ish) to replace the tyres - but it would be nice to invest in something that works well on an SL . . . .
The Mrs has an R32 - and that gets Conti Sports put on it because it feels FAB on them - tried them on the CLK - OK but not great... tried Dunlops... hmmmm - think I'll try something else next . . .
So - the questions is - what works well on an SL for a spirited driver ( ) with half an eye on vfm ???
Thanks in antic.......
