It's a 2 hours vehicle check I am getting tomorrow so they should let me know. How much for two new struts? 2K?
Depending what you get between £1200 each to £1600 each... But for balljoints can be resin injected on the car or new one pressed in if the strut removed for much much less.

Cheaper to re resin, no need to remove struts and no shipping costs.

Roughly speaking £120 per strut to resin repair the lower ball joint and £200 for ABC flush and rodeo (use genuine Pentosin)
Very rough as I’m going on memory of something I’ve tried to forget!
If you can take the car to Ian at Star you’d save yourself a world of pain as he can do the resin repair without strut removal - which will probably save further costs anyway as the hydraulic quick release in the feed pipes will be seized solid!
Lots to be checked on this car I fear....

Well, I'll have the report in the morning which I'll share here! The chip in the windscreen is what's annoying me the most funnily enough!

I am excited... but quite willing to walk away if it's bad news.

I'll post about it properly tomorrow -- but a huge thank you to each and all of you on this thread and forum. You've all helped me get a quick understanding of the fundamentals of the SL55, it's needs, and the love it requires...!

All went well. Its filthy from the 3hr wet motorway drive home. My nephew is gonna clean it on Sunday. So pics to come...!

It looks like the boot seals need re-doing so I need to find somebody to help me do that.

I am in Colchester, if you know anybody nearby.
