I have previously mentioned about this before and I was given some good advice on a cure. The water temp gauge does not work on my R230 SL 500. I dismantled the unit and found the cause of the problem, which is the ribbon connector feeding the PCB behind the temp gauge has come off.

I live in the Kent area, and wondered if anyone knows of someone who could repair the unit for me.

Many thanks

Paul

Has the ribbon connector come off the PCB, or just the ribbon come out of the connector

Ribbon connector

Hi

Yes it looks like the ribbon has come away from the pins. Not sure what the connection detail is, but it looks to me like a piece of ribbon. Not sure if there is a block connector at the underside of the ribbon, as it was a bit hard to see without taking the whole thing apart. There is a sort of whirt silicone at the junction of the pins and the ribbon.

Cheers

I can repair them normally but I am a long way away.

There is a firm near you that someone mentioned this week, I will try and find it
