Sprinter 316 manual sticking 3rd gear

I have a 2002 Sprinter 316 manual, it's only done just over 100k miles and is in really good condition. Today I had the front tyres changed, I left the garage and drove 20 miles, I thought there was a new knocking sound when changing gear, only slight but definitely different. As I was driving back later it got stuck in 3rd and made a weird noise, after some "jiggling" of the gear stick it came out and I managed to carry on but the knocking sound is now louder, particularly when pulling out of 3rd.
Anyone know what this may be? And could it have been caused when the new tyres were fitted or is it purely coincidence ?

sounds like bad luck and a gearbox rebuild will be needed , cant be a clutch issue as all other gears are ok

Try changing box oil first. I had it on an a4 of similar miles changed box oil added some molyslip seemed to sort it

Hi there if anyone has come a cross before, I try to change the complete gear cable and when I fitted the new one somehow now it doesn't take the 5th and 6th gear , I try to put back the old one it doesn't take the 1st gear and reverse ? Does anyone have an opinion.

Just to let you know-
It got worse quite quickly across all the gears, was the clutch
