Hi need some advice.

I need to replace my gearbox, due to damage to mont on the case below propshaft. I’ve decided it will be a lot quicker to replace the hole box rather than repair it and the box has done around 386000 miles, it works fine I might add... but the question is what box do I need? and how difficult would it be to go to a auto box? But if it’s to much hassle I won’t bother and what do I need to fit it ie. bearing gaskets etc

To change to auto would be a major hassle.
You'd need a box, transmission ECU, wiring harness, rear diff ratio probably different, possible propshaft and a transmission cooler (or new radiator). Changing the manual box Inthe other hand will be simple. No gaskets but if recommend changing the clutch, rear main bearing seal and gearbox input seal while it's all out.

Ok thanks, i thought as much... I’ve got a 2002 2.1cdti with a with a 2.5 block and cylinder head, but everything else is original. Are all the gearboxes the same for the 2000-2005 2.1/2.2

Put your VIN into a decoder (sorry don't have link) and it'll come back with the gearbox model you have in your Sprinter. Have a look around for that particular model number (ebay, breakers, etc). It should then be a straight out and in.
