Bilt hamber cleanser fluid is also good, find it less effort than a polish type cleanser like Dj lime prime

I always clay before using a different wax, usually with a clay mitt like THIS ONE.

Just use soapy water as a lube and it's done in a few minutes.

Some TFR will remove the wax you have on, ideally clay it next, then use a Cleanser as mentioned to leave a clean base for your trial.

We've got the DoDo Lime Prime/Lite on big discount here: http://www.morethanpolish.com/dodo_juice.asp

Fairy liquid, it`s a degreaser and strips wax/polish which is why your told never to wash your car with it and it`s a helluva lot cheaper than anything else, I would also recommend claying before new polish and wax as daveenty suggests...

My only experience of wax/polish stripping was a Victorian dressing table that had been badly French Polished, but I guess Nitromors would be a bit OTT for what the OP wants!!:eek::eek:

Don't use fairy liquid! It contains lots of salt which will do your car no good at all!
