UPDATE...I tried everything everyone suggested even the Hand sanitiser and TFR and I think it moved the sap a bit, but not all..so the only thing to do was to get a professional to look at it..
I took my car to a local car paint specialist who took a look and commented that it was certainly the worse case of tree sap he had seen...so he had to get a chemical and a clay cloth and lots of elbow grease and it finally started to disappear..so it is booked in to have the whole car done now..
Thanks again everyone for your input , much appreciated

Glad you have a result y3putt! It's infuriating though, when all you've done is park your car!

Alcohol. Have you tried this? Surgical alcohol, or hand sanitizer which contains it. The alcohol dissolves the long chain bonds that form the resin that makes the sap sticky. Trust me, it'll get it off. But you'll need to wax the area afterwards though.

Agreed on this.
When I inherited mums C270cdi
It had been left outside in front of the garage doors for long periods, and got a lot of tree sap spots .... really baked on.
I used isopropyl alchohol. Soaked a big cotton wool pad, then rubbed it off, then clayed it.
It took for ever but came back perfect. It was so bad I was initially considering resprayinf the bonnet, boot and roof! That bad.
Good luck dont envy you .... bitch of a job.

The car was basically used as a big burglar deterrent during a spate of attacks on elderly people.
So the car was left out for months on end.
Utterly disgusting ... they beat one old lady circa 77 years old, black and blue, 'cos she didnt give them her money. Thick chav bastards, didnt realise big house in Surrey ... cash is in the bank, not under a mattress!
Very distressing to see a picure of that Poor old lady.
Of course they didnt catch them, too busy manning the "essential" speed traps!

The essential speed traps provide a more secure and immediate source of income than catching criminals who's only benefit to society would be organ donation :p
