Morning folks

I'm currently looking to get an idler pulley for my E class.. which appears to be shot and basically and this stage is just "consuming" the belt lol.

Can anybody suggest somewhere that might have in stock for a delivery tomorrow.. so I can be back on the road for the weekend.

I'll be looking for a belt too :)

Many thanks all
Conor

The belt is in an awful way and the idler was super hot compares to other pulleys. I also had a very high pitched low volume whine too.. so I think it's time.

Local MB dealership or Euro Car Parts might have the part in stock.

Did you try that?

If I ever need parts urgently any good place should get them in same day if you go there first thing in the morning.
MB dealers
GSF, ECP (although ECP getting silly expensive)
A local motor factors.

Thanks guys,

Annoyingly MB UK closed the local dealers.. few other factors Inc ECP don't have.

I guess I'll stick a belt on and order online..along with a spare belt lol.

Has anybody ever ordered from Auto Doc. I use them a lot in Ireland. Prices are insane but delivery takes a while.

I have used AutoDoc about 1 year ago.
The parts and price were good, but it did take 1-2 weeks to arrive from Germany.

I have placed 6 orders with Autodoc in the last 18 months, everything has been correct so far and competitively priced. I plan ahead for jobs if ordering from them. I am finding the pricing a but up and down lately due to their offers.

MB in Grangemouth is where my local indy gets his parts - recommended by others too

Yea, that's how I do it too. It's necessary to plan ahead.

Is there import duty/customs issues with postage to UK?

Supposedly their prices are cheaper Monday morning/Mid week versus the weekends, when most people order...I haven't checked/noticed yet though.

BTW lads.. Anybody buy parts from Halfords?

I just got a Dayco belt from there for £22 with a trade card (RRP £25) whereas the local factors wanted 42 for a gates belt. Good to keep in mind.

Parts will be from the big high turnover motor factors in your area.

Halfords i have had wiper blades from there only because they do price match - find them cheaper online and go to halfords.
Seems they are going more down the line of parts and the price you paid for the belt is spot on.

Yea the belt price is decent.

I paid 32 for the pulley in factors I think it was.. not too bad either for gates. Halfords didn't have the pulley.
