The temperature LCD has basically died and I need to replace it.

Does anyone know the procedure for taking the faulty one out and replacing it with a new one? Also, can the LCD displays be purchased from Motor factors?

My vehicle is a W210, E240 on a June 2000 W reg

Best regards,

As Malcolm says, assuming some of the pixels have died then it's a very common fault.(they all do it).
£100 or so to be fixed (Speedofixer) or diy if you're feeling adventurous.
No you cant buy the displays, but then the fault is the board connector below the display, not the display itself.
