Dear All,
Years ago in garage forecourts there was always a container of " Upper Cylinder Head Lubricant" of which people would squirt 2 or more "shots" into they're tank whilst re-fuelling . Even then as a Kid with little knowledge of engines I used to wonder what use this stuff was, how anything atomised with petrol could lubricate the small potion of valve protruding into the inlet manifold, was beyond me.
These days however, I see Red X fuel treatment and the like, sold for £5 a bottle, now called injector cleaner. I wonder if this is the same stuff but re-branded?
In a broader sense does anyone use Red X or any other additive? Does it do what its supposed to do ? Is it worth the cost?
Any opinions would be appreciated.
