Hi All, Just a quick question, on the old site software if you wanted to thank a member for his thread / posting then you could do that and your user name appeared below such that the poster could see who did it, you could also see other members who liked the posting. Unless i am missing some thing the new software only allows you to press the "Like" and then all that comes up is "you like this", so without posting a reply to the other member, how do they know that you like what they have posted? Herbie.

If someone likes your post you get an alert (top right corner). You can click the alerts and see who liked which posts.

Also, if you use the 'Mercedes custom' style (hover over your username at the top of the page, select 'preferences' and its the top option box) you can see who else has liked a post (though after about 3 people it just rounds them up with an 'and x others' .
You can customise your alerts by hovering over your username at the top of the page and selecting 'Alert Preferences' and ticking or unticking the ones you do/don't want.

One thing i miss (which might just be me misusing) on an otherwise great upgrade is you dont seem to be able to see users cars and location on a post without having to go into their profile, it was useful when you could see that at a glance

I can see the users cars Rob but your right no location in the user details to the left of a post?

I knew how to PM a member with the old system but as of yet I am unable to find the link with the new site. Left click on a member brings up start a conversation but I am not sure this is private. Anybody know if this is correct?

Yes its the same.

As per other comments a location field visible under the posters name would be useful.

Ah yes, now im on my PC I can also see cars, but no location still.

If the forum can't be updated to show location below cars , we could put our location in with our cars ?

It wasn't there earlier today!

Since the upgrade, in the sub menu`s it takes an age to load the page then I get the old "this page cannot be displayed" so its either the back button or the refresh and then it takes time to load, was instant on the old format.

Which sub menus do you mean @eman? Can you show a screen shot of the problem?

@vbadmin I think I have cured it, I had the site on a saved page, I closed that and re opened the site and everything seems up to speed.
