Sorry incomplete post...

My V5 gives the following data

Exhaust emissions

CO: 0.287g/km

HC + NOx: 0.90g/km

NOx: 0.061g/km

PM: 1.040g/km

and the Euro 6 standard according to RAC

CO: 0.50g/km

HC + NOx: 0.17g/km

NOx: 0.08g/km

PM: 0.005g/km

so my vehicle does not seem to be compliant?

Your V5 must be wrong as your car is listed as euro 6. Also, no way its putting out 1g p/km of particulates with a DPF

I contacted MB this morning (homologationmbpc@daimler.com) and they have been pretty quick getting back to me with the following

Dear Mr Gill

I can confirm that your E350 BLUETEC fully conforms to the Euro 6 Emission Standard and is not subject to the ULEZ charge.

There is currently a glitch on the TFL website because some manufacturers have submitted the PM value in mg/km. (Due to the extra low emissions on Mercedes-Benz cars the figure in g/km is Zero i.e. 0.000 g/km, which the DVLA will not accept)

We have been in discussion with TFL and they have agreed to amend their Reg Checker and we are currently waiting for the database to be updated.

This should happen in the next few weeks (long before ULEZ goes live).

The Certificate of Conformity Item 47 (supplied with the owners manuals in the black leather wallet and sometimes kept in the glove box) provides proof that your car is Euro 6.

If you are unable to locate the certificate, I can provide a letter confirming the Euro status and emissions of your car.

They have been pretty speedy and efficient and say that TfL accept their letter so I will report back when I receive confirmation form TfL. Hopefully DVLA and TfL will have got their act together understanding emissions criteria and measurement.....doesn't surprise me though.

I live yards away from the North Circular and my 2000 W210 will not be compliant in 2021. Taking into account the high insurance in this lovely (sh**hole) area I am looking to replace my car.

Budget & mileage are low (4500) and I want something that is higher to make getting in and out easier. From personal experience can anyone recommend a low maintenance car for around £2000? I'm not too fussy on brand or looks.

Would like to stick with Benz but can't justify the cost of keeping one especially in this area.

These are rarely if ever thought through properly.
Example.
When they first introduced emission based taxation in London my 1977 Forward Control Land Rover ambulance was permitted. It had a 3.5 Rover V8 and on a good run might get as high as 11mpg. No cats, EGR or anything resembling pollution controls.
My 1991 Defender fitted with a 2.5 litre 300TDi diesel (very similar to the black cab engine that was everywhere) was banned even though it had an EGR and catalytic converter and would regularly return 28mpg!

Surely a 1991 Defender with a 300Tdi is a modified vehicle? That engine wasn't introduced until MY1994 with the facelift (Tempest) Discovery and only later on the Defender - not sure exactly when. Putting your VRN into a database would show the original engine (200Tdi) which certainly wouldn't meet Euro 4 :)

It was originally a 2.5TD from memory (not got it anymore) as it was ex NATO apparently. When I got it it already had the 300TDi/R380 fitted. Silly thing was the Ambulance (FC101 at 9mpg) was perfectly ok to take into the LEZ even though it had no emissions control on it whatsoever!

Mass non compliance is the only answer to ULEZ.

I wonder which version of software that is based on ?
1) illegal cheat that came with the car
2) illegal cheat 2
3) undrivable but legal

Dear All,
I spoke with MB Head office in Milton Keynes, and their homologation dept are sending me the requisite letter with all the details.
ie :
- Vehicle registration mark (VRM)
- Vehicle identification number (VIN)
- Euro standard the vehicle was manufactured to
- Fuel Type
- Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) value
and
- Particulate matter (PM) g/km value (if diesel)

The TFL website only has a contact us by filling in the boxes and uploading any further info page which is most unhelpful as you never get to actually know if anything is being done.
I shall of course keep you all informed as to the outcome.
Hi there i am in the same boat and i kicked off with my dealer with the same, 1st of if the car is euro 6 why do we need to get this and i have a penalty from tfl saying its not compliant when it is. My previous car had a yellow booklet with a certificate but the new one doesn't have it so for me to get a replacement i have reached out to MB IN MK but not sure i had the correct details the email address keeps bouncing back. Can you share the details you have as i need to get this before times out or i would have to pay a penalty which i dont need to. If you can email me vikas_judge@hotmail.com details or reply to this thread. Also another thing is i have put on my personalised plate and not sure if that is the issue as DVLA will update the details across so why the difference.

It doesn’t help that the TfL database is worse than most NHS ones!
