Hi there guys I hope your all well......I was hoping I could ask u a quick question. I'm not sure if you remember but I had an oil leak and had to change out my Cam Magnets. Well that has since been done and after doing so the car was running well with no problems and the gear shifting also seemed to improve. after driving for around 50 plus miles earlier today I had a check engine light and the other ones for the system too rich and lean where still there but a new one had appeared it was

P0020 A Camshaft actuator circuit/open bank 2

do you know what this is and how it can be fixed. I also noted knew symptoms of rough idling as well which is just started since seeing this fault code. I hope you can help

many thanks

I think this is the cam shaft position sensor mounted beside no.3 plug.

Check the plug for oil contamination, the wiring and sensor as LostKiwi says. upload_2018-3-18_17-58-38.png

Did you change the O rings and small rubber plugs and install the wiring blockers?
After changing mine I still had to clean the connector to the after cat O2 sensor and ECU a couple of times with contact cleaner before the fault codes and CEL cleared.

The wiring from the cam magnets and the sensor will go back to the ECU mounted on the side of the air filter box, if you haven't cleaned it before it will be worth having a look and cleaning the plug only not the socket on the ECU with contact cleaner and compressed air. If there is oil present in the ECU socket I used a cotton bud sprayed with contact cleaner and very carefully cleaned around the contacts being extremely careful not to bend them or leave any cotton and finished with compressed air.

I have attached pictures of the cam sensor that I removed and had a look at It seems contaminated with thick oil. I have also included some screens of the Live data from my obd

Sorry I can't help you out with the data but the oil on that end of sensor shouldn't be a problem as it is a Hall effect. The oil contamination from the cam magnets is caused by the oil wicking up the actual copper wire and causing problems at various connectors around the engine, notably the ECU and 02 sensors.
Someone may be able to tell you how to test it with a meter as moving it past something metallic should produce some voltage.

Those short term fuel trims look decidedly odd. Looking at that suggests an intake air leak.

I can imagine if the crud around the sensor is contaminated with half the cam chain and sprockets (in the form of swarf) it could make the readings given interesting

I was having a code suggesting an intake leak kiwi. There is also a hissing coming from the engine that i can hear. The whole thing has me stumped. I dont know what to do next.

Get a length of hose about 2 foot long. Put one end to your ear. Move the other end around and when the hiss is loudest you have the source.
