Thinking of buying a E Class cab good idea or not?

I'm thinking of buying a e class cab ( 14 or 15 plate) , what's the reliability like and what are the know problems?

There's some great deals on BMW 6 series convertiables 35k to 40k gets a gem ....I only mention as I have been looking at a convertiable for Mrs W ....

Reliability of the platform is great. I can't speak for the cab roof mechanism though.

Ive had a 2012 model for around 2/3 years. Really can't fault it. Roof operates perfectly every time and reliable. Can make a bit of a bang when it finally locks down but I think this is a design feature. However, and there's always a however, it went for its MOT today and I was issued with 2 advisories for very minor corrosion on front near side and off side brake pipes which can be seen in a sort of bracket behind the front wheels so that might be worth thinking about if you're gonna keep it for a while. Oh yea, please buy a hat and some sunscreen. After the recent fine weather I'm scorched!

Go on then John, I think I can guess, I've seen pictures of that car previously owned by a well known member on here

As an aside when my son was looking at B*W 4 series we viewed a new gunmetal grey coupe with red leather which he almost bought, the colour combo was brilliant. In the end he went for blue with black leather

Always a good combination, there is a White E Cab with Red leather near me and I does look good.

To the OP a 350CDi Sport would be my choice
