Please could someone with access to WIS give me the torque setting for the 6 nuts that secure the fuel pump to the tank on a W168 (A160, petrol)?

I did look but couldn't find any mention of a torque setting.

Thanks

Just looked (ar47.20-p-7000gf), and I too can't see any torque setting for the six screws, only for the ones fixing the tank (30Nm) in ar47.10-p-4100gf

I can see the pump is Pierburg E3S-F, but you, of course, know that too.

There's no that little square with [Nm] in the Operation Steps for the fuel pump removal, it's usually there if important?

Thanks David. It's looking highly likely that my 168 needs a fuel pump, need to get it on Star to rule out other possibilities first.

I would feel safer using a torque wrench on the fuel pump, I don't want to damage the fuel tank..

Browsing EPC, the W169 has a very similar set up. The fuel pump retaining nuts have the same part number as mine. Could I trouble you to look for a torque setting for the W169 fuel pump, please?

Of course, no problem.

Looked (and printed) both WIS for 168 and 169 - no mention of torque for the six nuts.
Do you want me to email you these pages?

Maybe it's best to check with an ex- or current Mercedes mechanic, for MB accepted settings, when the WIS doesn't specifically mention one?

David, my apologies for taking so long to reply. Thank you very much for checking WIS for me, I guess that in the absence of a torque setting I'll just have to employ some common sense (this is where it all goes wrong...)

Chris, I'm sure with your experience, you'd be perfectly alright.

On the other hand, if I ever attempted something like this, there will be trouble, I'm sure ;)
