Tow Bar E280 2006 Estate

I read that Westfalia tow bars are very nice. For the life of me I can't find a dealer that can supply and fit - although I haven't spent an hour on the telephone yet.

I'm in the Midlands. Can anyone recommend a supplier?

I'm sure a few minuites on Google will find you one, Towsure?

I have had a Westfaila on my last car and current, very smart and totaly invisable when removed unlike some that you can see th bar the tow hook connects to.

On the ML I had one fitted with twin electrics and bypass relay for £300 (mobile fitter) comes to you.

I wouldnt use a towsure bar tow a Halfords tiny trailer full of leaves to the tip.
Advice go and look at one!!!!! If you are towing anything you value, then take a look at the kit before you part with your money. Remember its a safety critical device. Towsure may be cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Surely if towsure sell a Westfaila towbar it the same kit as anyone who sells it? how can it be different?

I dodn't as it happends buy my two westfaila from them but its a name that spung to mind that may sell them?

Towsure is also a make of towbar, they are for people on a budget. i suppose you really have to see them side by side with other makes to see the quality difference. Remembering that the only link between your pride and joy and may be your £60,000 caravan is a cheap towbar. Westfalia and Bosal are both original equipment suppliers to MB.

I'm not trying to be funny, but what I'm saying is that if Towsure sell Westfalia towbars then surely these are the same products. Not copies or there own make? If they advertise a westfalia then thats what I would expect?

I agree don't buy a cheap towbar could be false economy.

I chose Westfalia on my BM as it was the OEM supplier and on the Merc.

Sure, wires crossed i think. Towsure sell Westfalia bars and they are the same. But there is also a cheap make of tow bar called Towsure.

I have a list of suppliers and fitters as long as your arm. If you tell me what town your in, i will find your nearest supplier/fitter.

Google giving me so many results - I don't know where to start. Doesn't help that I'm working flat out today putting a base down for a greenhouse. Too much to do, too little time!

I don't want to fit this myself because I've never had a tow bar before and know bu99er all about them. I'd prefer a mobile fitter - or somewhere near Solihull I can visit. It's for towing a heavy lighting generator rig thingy-gig-whatsit.

Just need a pointer for a good quality / hidden device (and supplier) so if you can help Bouncer (or anyone else?) - please do,

After a YELL and GOOGLE search and speaking to the obligatory weirdos, I've ordered a Witter and I'm Booked in next Friday morning for £399 + VAT at Auto Brake & Ignition Services, Redditch. I'll let you know outcome.
