As in, their easy route to Five Eyes access just flashed before their eyes.

What's being shown is "no deal" so will they go for (in their terms) a "bad deal"? Interesting to watch this one.

But everyone seems to forget that we have to get the agreement of 26 EU countries. And just as Theresa held hands with Trump in the hope of trade deals and being a key figure in the "special relationship" etc we should be using every inch of diplomacy to try and get a good settlement - amicably - not by confrontation.

"Diplomacy" shouldn't be confused with "appeasement". Parking a carrier strike group off an opponent's coast then having a very polite conversation about import tariffs is a version of diplomacy....

We don't disagree very often, Craig but I think that's a silly answer. Treesa has had her first response to "gunboat policy" today - the EU have said non! to her demands - they say they'll do it the way they want to so we might have her "walk away" solution sooner with no benefits rather than later. Oh but that's impossible because Boris said we'll have everything we had before Brexit!

Carrot and stick might work sometimes but I think they will call her bluff repeatedly which is all very sad. Still, I suppose it's all part of a great "plan" to put them on the offensive!

Can you see UK diplomats arranging to tie up a carrier (when we've built it) along the Russian coast and then going for a conversation about the price of their oil?

But that is true of almost every previous PM since the 70's. They all have jobs lined up in the city once the £100k a speech tour dries up. Then there are the memoirs to fall back on.

and only a moral infringement but spending the £9 million to preach to us was typical of his style.

Lies and deceit, I wouldn't view it as anything else.

A suggestion,
each time a politician is caught lying, sorry found to be in error of the facts, they should get a strike against them.

3 strikes and they spend an hour in the stocks at The Tower.

Government is required to provide the "advice documentation".
And all referenda are "advisory" by law. Strange, but it's true.

And arguably, he was quite honourable to move on (although he had said he would stay on if the vote went to exit).
- BrexQuitters would have had a field day of "bitching" if he had stayed on!

No they don't the "divorce" deal needs to be representative of 65% of the EU population.

The "new deal" after that theoretically needs everyone to agree, but the reality is that may not be needed.

There is a court case at the moment over countries veto's which may change things.
