2013 - C220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY AMG Sport Plus 7G-Tronic Plus 4dr
Hi all,

Just purchase my first Merc and went to fill the tires and realised I wasn't sure of the pressures I should be using. I'm not particularly technically minded, so apologies for the dumb question but what should the pressures be?

I have a 2013 C220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY AMG Sport Plus 7G-Tronic Plus 4dr and the front tyres are 225/40/18 while the rears are 255/35/18.

Any pointers greatly appreciated!

There should be a sticker inside the fuel filler flap with the correct pressures.
Also your handbook should have them somewhere near the back.

^ as above, however when you find them knock a couple of psi off - they are normally set high to try to achieve the unachievable mpg claims, which will likely give an unsettled and hard ride...

This, I run my W204 at 2psi under recommended and they wear evenly and give a better ride, sticker inside the fuel flap

34 front and 36 rear IIRC

Sticker on my 2013 S204 C250 CDI says 36psi front/rear but I've set it at 32psi, better ride over bumps and haven't noticed any difference on fuel consumption.

I have my 09 B Class I think that's the W245 running at the pressures as the indicated and don't have any wear issues on the tyres and I find the ride very comfy. I drove from Preston UK to Assen NL only stopping for the channel tunnel and had no issues comfort wise. As for the MPG I'm actually bettering the claimed MPG by 10-12MPG.

Ran my 203 at lowest recommended pressures. Outer edges f & B wore faster than middle. Increased pressure a little, but same wear pattern. Only ever 2 of us in the car, but the tyres were new when we bought it and were obviously cheapies. I'd like to get the pressurese right before I replace them with something decent.
Now increased pressure to highest recommended to try & equal out the wear.
My sticker has a picture of 5 fat Germans and 4 cases of lager alongside the pressure.

May be a change of tyres have been done .Then you local tyre dealer will only be to pleased to help you with the right pressure settings . If original tyres you will find a sticker as post above have said .

we forget a Merc is designed to do 120 mph every day, not 55 like we do
