Tyre size

Need to change the tears on my C270 which currently has 205/55R16 budgets. The car slides in the mildest of damp road so going to put some Khumos on.

Going on sites they are saying the tears should be 225/55R16

Had a quote yesterday for a pair of 205 size and the garage said keeping them the same was best ?

You need to check what the originals were as changing the aspect ratio will screw up your ABS and cruise if you aren't careful.

If you are meant to be 50 all round and you change one end to 55 your wheels will be going different speeds and this could potentially be lethal...

As above if replacing only 2 tyres keep the same rolling diameter to prevent issues with ESP, Cruise and ABS.
To find out what tyres you should have look in the fuel filler cap - it will list the sizes for your car in there. Also check the handbook. From memory 205 does sound about right.

The difference in diameter between a 205/55 and a 225/55 is 22mm...far too big a difference. 205/55 16 are correct for your car.
