I have a 2015 W212 220d purchased new in 2015 with 19000 miles on clock. I recently had a blow out on the offside rear tyre. Inspection found the nearside edge of the tyre had worn down through the cords and caused the blow out. The remainder of the tyre had between 3 and 4mm of tread left. On inspection it was found the nearside tyre was in a similar condition. The car was booked into main MB dealer for rear tracking etc to be checked and found to be within set limits. I returned the tyres to Continental and have received confirmation from them that the tyres are not at fault. They state camber or caster angles wrong!! I have been back to Mercedes and they state there is nothing wrong and will do no more. My concern is will this happen again when the car is out of warranty, Has anyone had a similar experience or can throw any light on the subject?

There are a number of threads on this issue-
Basically correct, you need a 4 wheel alignment done then adjustments made upon the results, likely via camber bolts.
Depending where you are someone on here can probably suggest a specialist to you
I just posted this on the thread further up this page ‘steering pulling to left’

Will give you an idea what it’s all about

Best place to have this sorted is Wheels in Motion near Aylesbury.

You need to take your car to a tyre specialist that has the 4 wheel HUNTER alignment system, I have not found a , MB distributor with the system my local one has the tyrs and alignments done by a outside specialist, reason it is cheaper than having the people trained and space used for limited use.

I had this exact same problem, had mine done on a Hunter system and adjustments were made now the fronts are on about 20,000 miles and still ok.

Exact same today when I came to put on winter tyres (early I know). Annoying as tyre was not repairable (4k mls on Bridgestone Potenza 245x45x18) plus a non reparable puncture on the rear 265... pricey way to spend an afternoon. The 4 wheel alignment at my local ETB (Stratford on Avon) was 70 quid.

cars should not wear tyres like this, if they do there is a fault, most likely with the car (actual tyre faults are very rare) geometry faults with the state of our roads very likely...

if they say its in spec, the thoughts I have are

1) I can imagine the dealers / database of the correct geometry setting is incorrect
2) the tyre pressures are a long way out of spec
3) ride height of a heavily laden vehicle is incorrect leading to continual use with things in the wrong place
4) or something under load is allowing the wheel to move that's not showing up when its stationary
