Hi,

Any one care to offer their opinion of whether my tyre should do this after 4 months and less that 1,200 miles. This will be my 4th front tyre since November 2016. All tyres have been GY Eagle F1 Assy 2 at 245/35/19. Thoughts please?????

What Jon said. That's clear delamination of the sidewall from the carcass. Very dangerous and indicative of poor temperature control in the manufacturing process typically.

Has the tyre depot replaced each damaged tyre FOC?

I'd definitely be contacting customer services at Goodyear to get some answers as to why this has happened so often.
This particular tyre is well recommended, and no way a cheap budget brand.

Could the tyre fitter be damaging the tyres whilst mounting them on the wheels? It certainly needs investigation.

Don't think so, there's a poor lamination process happened there during vulcanisation in my opinion , leading as Jon says to sidewall separation - (ply separation)not normally expected from Goodyear- expect to see that from the LeeKee Tyre company some other place in the world...

Thanks for the replies :)

The tyre has now been replaced and complaint made to Goodyear. I'll let you know the outcome.

If you can, make a note of the manufacture batch code on this tyre... Just in case it happens again, you can at least start to log manufacturing data. I'm guessing it's too late to get data off previous tyres?

I probably should have do that RH500. Will certainly note the data on the latest 2 tires although the Assy 2' are now superceded by Assy 3's (could that be because the 2's were prone to this in that size and profule???).

No, it is natural progression, the Assy3 is the next generation of the tyre
