Leaving Austria tomorrow , the loose plan if the weather is decent (which it looks to be on the forecast) is to head down towards the Stelvio pass in Italy and probably get accomodation before it so i can hit it Sunday morning . Then it will be heading north through Switzerland

Everything is expensive in Switzerland, don't use the autobahn unless you have a pass. They are about £40 & the minimum is 12 months.
Have a look at the north side of the Bodensee or Lake Constance, Lindau is a nice stop off. Also the Zeppelin Museum is at Friedrichshafen, well worth a visit.

Stopped in a Gastoff just short of the Stelvio pass . Passed some stunning scenery today. Here are a couple of pics 20180915_181848.jpg 20180915_133328.jpg 20180915_134005.jpg

Hell of a lot of Porsches and motorbikes on these roads . The passes must be a Mecca for sports cars .

I'm trying to talk Mrs Wighty into the possibility of getting a Porsche in a couple of years ! Saw about 20 in convoy earlier today

Did the Stelvio this morning in fantastic weather and was over it before 10.30am and the traffic built up . Jesus what a pass. I must admit to being nervous most of the way up . Mrs Wighty was like a fighter pilot navigator looking for incoming dangers round the corners from above and below when I couldn't turn my head because of concentrating . Anyway glad we did it . In southern Germany now exhausted and hoping to get to Calais tomorrow afternoon/ evening . 20180916_093407.jpg 20180916_093525.jpg 20180916_093327.jpg 20180916_100308.jpg 20180916_100312.jpg

Good move on avoiding the traffic on the Stelvio! We did one run down and another back up.
