Got back last night after a long run from southern Germany back to Calais , good roads in the main , but Belgium had some shocking potholes !

Overall trip mileage and consumption . Considering there was a lot of slow high pass driving and some higher speeds on German autobahns I'm pretty pleased , not the I did any fuel saving measures .

Thanks to all for your advice and tips , it really was a great help , just shows how the forum can help by pooling everyone's experience and knowledge . Maybe I'll be able to pay some of it back if someone else is considering a similar trip .
Next year September/October I'm planning a Norway Arctic Circle drive , I'll get Mrs Wighty a woolly hat for Christmas .

I’ve done Norway and the Arctic Circle - but from a Cruise Ship! - so I’ll be very interested to hear about a driving trip.

About what used to get on my CLK200K. The E350CDI will see 50mpg+ limiting it to 85mph on the autobahn.
