The motor drive unit for the o/s door is t's up, I've a pre loved unit coming.
The problem is that since going u/s the rear doors won't lock, and of course no alarm.

All relevant fuses check ok.

I can lock the tailgate manually before closing but the side doors have no manual facility.
Anyone any ideas on how to lock these?

The broken door motor was a red herring regarding the locking and alarm.
During a drive to Preston the door open alrm would intemittently ping up. I cleaned the pillar contact plates and things greatly improved with the alrm and most times it would then lock.

Today I fitted the four contact plates, 2 to each side. I noticed a little evidence of water ingress to the n/s contact connector. Also the roof lining has just shown some wet staining.
The sunroof drains were blocked and with some guidance from the other side I cleared them.

Time'll tell but hopefully the doors will behave and ingress will be no more.

Hi, Having trouble with my 2008 CD220 electric doors also.......
Did you buy new contact plates or pre-loved? Did you replace the door pillar units only, or the sprung contact pins on the doors too? my driver-side rear door will open quite randomly - what was your experience like?

I haven't definitively found the cause on this.
All is ooperating well and better than ever before, but only once since the replacements has the o/s door failed to remain closed.

I replaced both contact plates with new

The original spring dorr contacts are still in place.

My thinking is that the cause could be poor SAM signal, as this is only a signal and doesn't have the 12 volts to create a more definite contact on occasion,
or the ingress of rain water was bridging contacts and confusing the SAM, and has now dried sufficiently to be more reliable. The blocked sun roof drains being the culprits.

On a much earlier C class the windscreen was allowing ingress above the light switch, a complex little unit. The alarm would go off intermittently, lights would work as they pleased, same with indicaters.
With the windscreen re sealed and the switch dried out the issue was sorted.
SAM's can be finicky buggers.

If it re occurs I'll be removing the door lock mechanism and looking it to that.
