Does anyone use voice control or is it all a bit James Bond/automatic parking mumbo.

I didn't even know I had it until today and that's because I was reading something non related about Mercedes, I haven't even been out to check if I have that button on the steering wheel but I bet I have. I like the idea of shouting out a postal code and sitting back and taking instructions, if that's how it works. Or shouting out my mums name and 20 seconds later I'm talking to her, unless Emerdale is on.....

So guys am I living Casino Royal or does it really work and should I get into the groove?

some people like it, others say its a useless gimmick. I'm in the useless gimmick camp. for most functions, by the time you have reached out to press the button to activate the system, you only need move another few inches and you can activate the function manually WITHOUT having to talk to the car and have it actually understand you!!!

It's ok... don't use it for navigation but useful for track selection or disc selection.

I use it for phone calls, changing music tracks, putting on radio etc.
I have used it for navigation but that's hit and miss, not a system fault but mine I'm too lazy to read the manual.

You do have to use the keywords properly, for instance saying telephone mum does not work but call mum does.

I find mine isn't too savvy with my accent, hit and miss sometimes and often it is very disobedient to my instruction, with the phase 'pardon'

Aye, I don't use it for simple stuff like volume, but it is very useful for entering a destination while driving.

I've trained my linguatronic to make coffee :):)

Works well for me for lots of functions, especially the phone.

Have the track pad in the centre arm console with the new car. Tend to use that left handed to enter postcodes for the sat nag, which works very well despite being right handed ordinarily.

The coffee thing is from the first time I used the linguatronic in the previous W221. I arrived home after my weekly commute, for my brother in law to see the car. When he jumped in I remarked it makes coffee. Push the button on the steering wheel, 'call wifey', wife answers her phone in the house and I asked her for 2 coffees. :):)

Not COMAND, but I've been using a voice-controlled Garmin satnav for six years now (it's a stand-alone unit).
Works perfectly well, and it's voice activated (custom phrase), so I don't have to touch the screen at all.
