Hi there, I have a 1988 w124 coupe which I’m having some bodywork done to. New Mercedes front wings are on order, and my next step is to sort out the sagging front bumper. I have all new mountings brackets (the L shaped ones) for both sides. However my issue now is that the small U shaped attachment points spot welded to the front structure of the car are very badly corroded. Seems like a very poor design, especially as the car isn’t fitted with full wheel arch liners. Anyway, my question is if these two small attachment pieces are available as repair panels that my body shop can weld in, or will they have to fabricate something? The parts diagrams for this model aren’t very detailed, so I was hoping someone else has completed this type of repair and could share their wisdom! Example photo attached to show to area in question. Thanks.
