I have a lovely '96 estate with the factory (?) red/green led's on doors and two of the one button, flick-knife type remotes. One locks/unlocks fine, the other still seems dead; no red led flash from it despite brand new batteries. Is it a question that this unit needs re-synching or do I need to give MB a bucket of money for a new one and stop pestering the good folk in these forums?

Its possible the micro switch on the PCB has become detached and thus it doesnt do anything. You will need to take it apart to see whats really wrong with it, mine did this and I managed to fix it quite easily.

But never the less, you will probably still need to synchronise it. See handbook for how.
