Just thought I'd share this. Whirring noise from rhs dash, instruments and brake lights not working. - Changed all the 'old' fuses and now all OK. An easy fix. The whirring noise posibly a relay?

Great when you get an instant fix from something you do yourself:)

Brake light fuse is the same as instruments. If you ever see the gauages dip when you press the brake pedal it will be this fuse not working properly. By this time be aware you have practically no brake lights and it isn't covered by the bulb blown warning light...

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread. When you say you replaced the "old" fuses, were they still intact? The reason I ask is this morning my radio, cubby hole light ect wouldn't work. A quick check on the side of the road showed the offending fuse to look ok. Just wondering if there is anything else I should look at before I tear into the fuse box itself. Thanks

I was told by someone on here when I bought mine the first thing to do is to replace all fuses. I didn't and over 2 years random things seemed to not work that well so track fuse and then although the fuse always looked fine once swapped with another fuse it solved problem, and then i finally spent 3 quid and 30 minutes replacing all fuses and cleaning the contacts and no such random problems since then! So yes, you can check by swapping with something non essential like the heated rear window fuse and see if it solves the problem?

Thanks for that. I have found the problem, but unfortunately it has only exposed more weirdness, about which I will open a new thread.
