Hi

Im just trying to find instructions to 'find' and 'fit' a Heater Blower Resistor in my W169 Merc. If anyone can help Id be most grateful as Ive had no luck so far. I need to do it this weekend if possible.

Heater Blower resistor

Hi
Just fitted mine about an hour ago
Now works fine. Took me about 10 mins lying upside down on the drivers chair
here is the link for the info to do it.

Only difference with mine is I have the 2007 model and the lug in the photo was the other way round apart from that it was the same process. You don't have to unscrew anything just push up the plastic a bit next to the clutch pedal and gently pull out the carpet and fold it under the clutch pedal. After that you can see the resister holder. Press the lug in and the hold lot comes out. You then need to push in at the same time the plastic holders that hold the power wires into the resistor and gently pull out then just change over to the new resistor, push back in and that was it . Cost me £24.73 and 10 mins work and that was done at night in the dark using my mobile for a torch. Got mine ordered through a friend at Ancaster
Good luck Don

Hi

Thank you Don, I didnt se this but what happened was, my BF persisted with easing the corner of the carpet out by the clutch and with a torch located the resistor. Like you I bought one online. He found it easy to clip in and since then my heater has worked perfectly. Thank you so much.
