Hello guys,
i have a problem with my Mercedes C180 w202 1993. Problem is with my automatic transmission. Skip a first gear, start in second. I changed the fluid and the filter in the transmission, and same problem wont go into first gear, same in E and S mode. I do not know why this is happening, it worked well before, from first to fourth gear. I forgot to mention that the gearbox is 722.4. Can someone help me with my problem?

Thanks, cheers

No I cant. I have a P,R,N,D,3,2 and E, S mode. I tried to move the gearshift lever into 2 position, then it should start at the first speed and change to the second gear ... but same thing it goes only In 2 gear not 1-2.

Ah ok . On the 722.3 the stick will move right from second to select first.
If you fluid level is ok it would suggest a sticking valve perhaps. I'd need to find an hydraulic diagram for this box to figure it out.

Tip for checking new oil is lie the dipstick on a piece of tissue or newspaper.

Great info...
I think that is:
Harsh Engagements
• Sticking or misassembled #58 valve
• #22 checkball not sealing, or spring out of position.

How can valve #58 to stick? How to unstick that valve? I dont know what is #22 checkball?

Valves stick if there has been dirty oil in the box. They can also stick if the rubber seal starts to break down (pretty rare).
