Hi all,

My W202 C220 (1994, M111) has an original mileage of 100000km. It has been losing water, seemingly through the coolant cap.

I share the car with family members, and I think a few drives were done with little- to no coolant in the tank. Suddenly the car is experiencing serious loss of power on take-off.

I took the car in for a check-up at my mechanic, here are the results of a compression test.

What do you advise?

Have a great day!

If u hav bad compresion ur looking at the least at cyl head removal to reseat valves, change head gasket. If u have ran it with little water have the head crack checked and skimmed. (within makers limits.)

Awesome, thanks. Would the damage have stopped at the head?

Do you think it is safe to assume that the pistons/rings/rods/block have not incurred major damage. Can this be checked in any simple way?

Have a great day.

None of your questions can be answered till the head is off.

The coolant loss and mayo in oil is indicative of gasket. As to other damage - see above.
