But for starters, as John says, it could be the Crank Position Sensor (CPS), because as they age they tend to go open circuit when they get warm, and restore continuity when they cool down - although it could be anything, from water build up in the diesel separator to faulty electronics elsewhere. Even where you habitually park (facing uphill may allow fuel run back if the fuel line O rings are getting hard, and leak).
The CPS is a sensible place to start checking. But - If there are no dash warning lights showing (and with a faulty CPS you may not get any lights) first visit a good indie and get the codes read. It will save you a lot of grief, time and expense in the long run.
And welcome. There are a lot of good blokes here, who have knowledge and can be very helpful.
