W203 (2004) radio malfunction

Hi guys, my audio 10 seems to have a problem when I switch off the ignition with the radio still on. When I switch the ignition back on the radio lights up but there is no sound. Itis as though it in on mute but I have tried that. If I switch the redio off and then back on again all is OK.
Help please I can't afford the stealership diagnostice visit.

The unit is probably duff. Dig deep as they are expensive..

I would slip the radio out and measure what is going into the radio when you turn off, if the unit is faulty there are nearly always some cheap ones on Ebay or maybe you could upgrade to Command

its not uncommon for the Audio10 to play up. Mine did a couple of times. Yours at least comes back with the switch. I had to pull the fuse on mine. May be worth trying if it's consistently doing it - just to reset it.
Failing that, do as Malcolm says.
