Hi
My nearside indicator has stopped working and a fault message has appeared saying its the light.(2006 Elegance). I assume I need to change the led. Looking on here there are lots of posts. I'm confused. Can I change the led without removing the mirror from the car? Can I access it using a screwdriver through a hole as suggested ? Can anyone send me instructions?
I would be greatful if any kind soul could help me.
Thanks
Dai

It looks a very similar set up to my R Class. If you tip the mirror down as far as it'll go, it exposes a wire clip that holds the glass. Unclip the glass & that gives access to the indicator repater, two screws & the led lamp assembly comes out but ......... it could be a broken wire to the lamp due to repeated folding in & out

I do have the instructions to remove the cover if you would like them.

Having removed the cover, it could be worth putting a meter across the contact terminals before shelling out for a replacement LED unit.

Agreed. If the mirrors are electric folding, and you use them, I'd say it's 60% chance of a broken wire vs 40% chance of the led being dead.

Thanks

Thank you all
Yes please Malcome I'd love the instructions. My email is davidbevan178@hotmail.co.uk
The strange thing is that after 4 hours in the sun (I had to ask what that yellow thing in the sky was) its back to normal??????
It could be a loose connection/broken wire. I'm sure that if I don't get the instructions then it will fail again instantly.
