Does anyone know if on a w203 if any pin on the OBD plug is ignition? and if so where does it come from? engine ECU?

On mercedes is the ignition pin usually pin 8?

Thanks

Are you looking for a ignition switched live that you can tap into.

Something like that, only without the car.

Basically i want to set up a bench ECU to test it with star. So i only have the engine ECU not the car itself. I've not actually tested it yet but from the ECU i've figured out:

Pin 24 - 12v
Pin 1 - 12v
Pin 2 - 12v
Pin 4- ground
Pin 28 - K-line

I have a feeling that when i test it on star that it won't detect Ignition? Unless one of the 12v pins is ignition?. And i presume mercedes uses pin8 for ignition?

I did not think that the 203 uses a 38 pin.

Ah - I saw he mentioned pin 28 so thought it would be the 38 pin. The standard OBD is only 16 after all.
Thinking about it that one may be a bit old.

Or maybe i could bridge pin 16+8 on the OBD plug to mimic ignition ON?
