W204 2011 125 Edition Sport - Exhaust End

Hello Everyone. Can you tell what to use to remove tar from the end of the polished exhaust end? I have tried to use AutoGlym Wheel Cleaner but it wasn't able to clean all of it. Can I use a steel kitchen brush and use some type of paste to polish it?

If you have a drill and one of those conical steel brush attachments, try that with some Autosol metal polish.

Fine wire wool and Autosol works too.

Give it a good wash, then I use a good quality kitchen towel, doubled over, soaked in white spirit.

Pres. it over the exhaust tips gently, let it soak for a good 30 seconds, then start wiping off.

Repeat as required, but only took two goes before I was then able to use Autosol (with or without fine wire wool) to clean up properly, then Meguiars Metal polish to shine up and protect.
