W204 C220 - Manual - Cant select gears/noisey release bearing?

Hi

I have a W204 C220 Manual Diesel on 164K miles.

Within the last week, i have noticed a noisey rattle when the clutch is first pressed, but this noise sometimes goes away then will be back.

Progressing through the week it is very difficult to select gears and almost have to force them in.

Does this sound like the clutch or just the selector etc?

The clutch doesnt slip.

Sounds like a failing dual mass flywheel. Not sure if your model has one but the symptoms fit.

cheers i get the feeling it is the DMF too.
