So a w204.202 ,2011, 153,000 miles, auto.
Bought the icarsoft v2. had a thorough "play" with it and found a fault...
(P246309 The soot content of the diesel particulate filter is not ok. There is a mechanical fault.)
It tells me 1% ash content. 6% soot content. 400% full.
Now the car drives great (when compared to my old w203) with no dash faults showing.
The eco light does not turn green until ive done around 50 miles in one trip, that's what got me looking in the first place.
I have driven to let it regen but don't think it has happened.. Read a fair bit about what parameters it needs to satisfy before the car regens.
So the icarsoft can force a regen? Not tried it yet.
What other options? Maybe star to see what is really happening?
A dpf cleaning company?
Maybe its just got to many miles and needs replacing?
Any thoughts/ ideas on what to do would be gratefully received..

i had similar problem on mine, and used some dpf cleaner (STP) in fuel and seems to have helped.

although im still getting a limp mode :( I have a generic scanner and it says Cylinder 3 - but i think that isnt correct and wanna get a star reading.

Sooo, took the car to mbs for a proper diagnosis... the icarsoft did get the 400% full right, but the 1% ash was actually o.001%
Turns out it was the dpf pressure sensor kaput ! that was replaces and a spin around the block and forced regen and all is good !

Dear all,

I have only just joined this forum and, as you can guess, because I have a problem with my DPF.

I had a couple of broken hoses that led to clogging of the DPF. The car being under dealer warranty, most of the expenses were covered and the DPF was also apparently cleaned. That was 2 months ago and after fixing all the hoses, the EML light is still on.

An indie garage tells me this is because it took the dealer a really long time to find and fix the issue and the DPF is now again clogged. He is also telling me to change the DPF as its restricted.

I am not convinced that it needs to be changed.

I have read that when the DPF is clogged the car goes in limp mode or does not have full power. Is there a way to measure that? It seems like my car is not in limp mode because I "think" the acceleration is fine and the rpm easily crosses 3000 when I push the pedal. But, this is my first diesel and I really dont know if the acceleration is slower because its a diesel or because its limping.

Is there a way to clean DPF like forced regen or fuel additives? Do they work? Is there a way to tell if the EGR Valve needs cleaning? Is it easy to remove and clean?

I have a 2012 C200 CDI.

Probably wants a pressure sensor and a software upgrade followed by a forced regen.

That said, no point in guessing, book it in with a MB specialist who has access to Xentry on line.
