The car is a 2001 chassis number WDB210xxxxxxxxxxxx

Ive had a problem with the engine stumbling a little and a smell of diesel , stripped the covers off today and it looked like the glow plug leaking but its actually the item pictured, its a rapid dripping when the engine is running , probably accounts for the stumbling

What is this thing called and what does it do ???

I presume i need a new one , there was a small plastic tie that may have been connected to the cap but this had broken, could this be a symptom of something else???

Get the new one and put it on, I had the same problem, its prone to go.
Its not easy to change because its a big pipe that goes round the front as well. The part is a valve.

Theres not much room around the front so be careful.

not sure whats it called buts its some sort of valve, even the plastic broke on mine and fuel was dripping.

Its comes complete with a long pipe. and If I remember correctly it branches into two pipes.

No stock at the stealers , on order .

Apparently you could buy it without the pipe but that option has been discontinued it now comes with the pipe and is £23+vat

I've ordered 2 and will try and seperate the valve from the pipe as that makes the job much easier

I thought it was some sort of engine kill?? you can change just the white plunger on those so you dont have to remove the pipe.

the pipe goes hard over time , i very much doubt it would be leak free even if you could change the valve
